1986 Corvette no exspense spared show winner. This car was bought new and is still owned by its original owner. He drove the car untill 33,000 miles and then it underwent a complete street Machine transformation. The car received a show quality repaint of its original color Bright Red. This car has over $80,000 invested not including the original price of the car. The foundation of this vehicle is its 406 C.I. power plant. It begins with a Klein built engine with integrated SKU RR-272 roller cam, Manley Sportmaster Rods, stainless rollers, Speed Pro Hydraulic lifters, Ross pistons, a 530-A36 Calles crankshaft, and (to top if off) it is equipped with AFR Heads which have been machined, ported, and polished! This motor has a compression ratio of 10.28:1 and has less 2 hrs of run time. The impressive additions are not only internal. An SFI Harmonic balancer, polished March Product polished pulleys, a Canton aluminum oil pan, MSD ignition, Lingenfelter Super Ram intake manifold and Accell 8.8MM silicone plug wires. And just in case you don't feel this is enough goodies, we've incorporated a 2-stage NOS system.
The NOS kit is a professionally installed - top of the line - NHRA approved 225 hp boost! The "little" addition consists of 2 basic systems. The first is an adjustable - direct port injection, button activated - 150 hp boost. The second is a micro switch activated by the throttle body. This second boost produces an additional 75 hp through a mister that has been incorporated into the throttle body. And all of these goodies are fed by a dual-tank setup with an NHRA approved blow-down tube.
So, all this good-stuff goes into the engine, but how does it come out? If you are having fun at the track, or would like to be the loudest kid on the block (which is who we are now!) then you run open Lingenfelter headers. Now, if you want to be street legal and turn some heads in town, just bolt on the increased diameter rear Y pipe with polished Borla mufflers.
TRANSMISSION AND REAR-END
An impressive power plant has to be mated to an equally impressive and strong drive-train. Therefore, we spiffed up the tranny with a 2500 rpm racing torque converter, a Summit deep finned pan, and lots of TLC. Power is then directed through a drive shaft with 4 new 5.447x u-joints. And since safety is always first, a driveshaft safety loop has been added.
The drive shaft is then matted to a rear-end with 3.73 T.P.I. gears. The axles have been polished and powder-coated for the show-stopper effect. But pretty is not always weak! All this power and strength is put to the ground through some 26x12.50-15 Mickey Thompson Sportman Pro (slick) tires. The beef is then wrapped on Weld 15x10s that are pinned and are bolted on with NHRA approved lengthened studs.
SUSPENSION & BRAKES
The front suspension of this vehicle has polished A-arms, Carrerra front shocks, and heavy duty tie-rod ends. All of this rides on 760x15 Mickey Thompsons on 15x5 Weld wheels.
The rear suspension has standard corvette parts with some awesome additions and modifications. A set of Doug Ripple modified trailing arms, brackets, and bushings have been installed. Also; AVO adjustable rear shocks and Guidstrand rear heim-links. The stock half shafts have been removed, polished and powdered coated. When this was done, all CV-joints have been replaced.
Stopping power is delivered by powder coated calipers that are fed by stainless steel braided lines. The pads engage on cross-drilled zinc platted rotors. And as an added feature, a line-lock system is operational.
Interior is full custom leather and cloth in Red. Momo Corse logos are embroidered into the door panels and seats.
You will not find a nicer example of a C-4 show car anywhere. All mechanicals and electricals work excellent with the exception of the tach and the electric antenna. Own it for a fraction of the cost to build a machine like this. Turn Key, runs and drives Flawlessly.
