1970 Chevelle
1970 Chevelle LS5. Real unmolested numbers matching car. I was told it was a one owner until 2001, when the second owner purchased it and painted it black. Originally it was Astro blue. Rust free car with all original floor pans, trunk, and sheetmetal. 4 speed hole was cut bigger for a race shifter long ago, but was repaired to stock. It had ladder bars installed for racing, but the tabs on the frame were cleanly removed. 12 bolt rear end stamped 3969278NF and CRO 1114b2. 3.23 gear. Original M-22 trans stamped P0ci8c and 70L18 (march 18th 1970) Casting # 3925661 and Tailshaft 3978764. Bellhousing 3899621 with 69 date. Original block casting # 3963512 with casting date of L9 (dec 69) Car was built in May. Engine stamped TI216CRT and 70L181578. Engine and transmission were rebuit to factory specs and it runs flawlessly. All of the brakes were rebuilt. New ralley wheels with BFG tires. Power steering with correct big block only column. Original 3/8 big block only fuel line still intact. Still has original big block only control arms front and back. Seat covers and carpet were replaced. Door panels and headliner are original and very nice. Dash is original and excellent. Correct gauges and tach, but lens is a little foggy. All of the gauges work and interior lights. Right blinker signal on dash does not work, but they all work outside the car. ( not a bulb, must be the circuit panel) Original and rare tilt column with deluxe steering wheel. Paint was professionally done to a quality I would compare with a new car. Overall pretty straight with excellent door, trunk, and hood gaps. All of the glass and stainless is nice original as well as the bumpers.(bumpers show some age, but overall still very presentable. Original cowl induction hood. Trunk still retains its original factory spatter coating. I purchased this car in So Cal and actually drove it back. I was able to do 75mph comfortably at 3300 RPM and believe it or not I got 15.34 miles to the gallon. It was an awesome trouble free drive. This car was always cared for and was a nice car before the cosmetic and mechanical restoration. Greta above average driver quality car with excellent investment potential.
