1965 Impala 509
Sold
1965 Impala 2 dr Hardtop. Same owner for the last 18 years and always an Arizona car. The completely rust free body was painted PPG "Hot Rod Blue" approximately 12years ago. It was a very professional job done right here in town by reputable painter and bodyman, Don Cline at "The Shop." Nice and straight, fully sanded and buffed, and still shines like new, however it has a few dings, rock chip touch ups, and scratches here and there from 12 careful years of use. Nothing major, I tried to capture a scratch touch up in a picture but it did not show up. There is some pebble rash from the slicks on the lower fender lip and quarters. This car has had no major bodywork ever and has never had any rust whatsoever. Every piece of sheetmetal on this car is original. All of the chrome and stainless on this car is original and pit free, however I would call it driver quality as it is not perfect like new. All of the glass is original and in good shape, with the exception of the windshield which has one crack. Interior is about 10 years old but still in great shape. Front buckets are German "Scheel Mann", leather and cloth. 8 point chromalloy roll cage was expertly installed and tig welded by Steve Cole, a local expert fabricator. VDO Cockpit gauges with Autometer tach and shift/ low oil pressure light. Trunk is finished in Zolatone with 15 gallon fuel cell. Nitrous tank was mounted but never used on this car. Engine is a 509 cubic inch Big Block Chevy freshened up a year ago with only a few hundred miles put on since then. Expertly machined By Larrys engine and Marine. 454 4 bolt block with steel Crank. Childs and Albert .250 long rods, Lunati 268/271 solid roller cam. Comp Cams extra long roller lifters, Hamburger Double roller timing chain, ATI Balancer, Crower stainless roller rocker arms, Crane stud Girdle, Morosa extra capacity oil pan, Dart aluminum 360 Heads with extensive port work performed by Mach Level Performance in Phoenix, matched fully ported Brodix intake, topped off with a dominator 1050 carb. Engine has all ARP hardware. Ignition comes from MSD Billet Distributor and 6al ignition box. Fully adjustable MSD adjustable timing control. Fuel system is all from SX including the pump, filter, and regulator. Cooled by a HOWE Radiator and electric fan. Transmission is a built turbo 400 w/ upgraded sprag, race clutches, manual shift kit, and hughes 4500 stall convertor good for 1000hp. Car rolls on Weld Drag lites with dot slicks out back. Comp engineering adjustable shocks. Rear end is a Currie Ford 9" , 35 spline moser axles, Strange spool, and a 4.10 gear. Southside Machine lower control arms. Exhaust is 3" and runs the whole way back. Car ran an 11.10 at 128mph last time it was at the track. Engine is very crisp, fast, and bulletproof utilizing all of the best parts available.
