1956 GMC Truck
1956 GMC Custom pickup. Started as an excellent bodied rust free AZ truck. Full restoration completed about 6 years ago and since then it was driven at least once a week clocking up 9,981 careful miles. The paint and bodywork on this vehicle were professionally done. It was stripped to bare metal and refinished with the best PPG products. Paint is a PPG 3 stage "Sunset Red Metallic". Overall the truck has good gaps and is straight. Paint quality is better than 85% of the cars you will see at a car show. Door jambs, cab, and dash are as nicely detailed as the exterior of the truck. Paint still shines like new, but has some very minor paint touch ups from rock chips and a few stars on the top of the rear fenders from tire pebbles. These are very minor and you have to look very close to notice them. Body was cleaned of all the emblems and a smooth tailgate was used. All of the wood in the bed as well as the chrome strips are new. Fuel tanks was moved under the bed for more cab room.(not to mention the stink) Chassis was completely gone through and upgraded. 10 bolt rear end with parallel leaf springs, camaro independent front suspension with power disc brakes and dropped spindles. Engine is a rebuilt Vortec 350 with mild cam, edelbrock intake and 650 carb, Hooker headers, electronic ignition, and aluminum valve covers. Flowmaster dual exhaust. Turbo 350 transmission with shift kit. Huge cross flow radiator keeps it cool. Vintage Air AC and heat with polished Sanden compressor and chrome drier. Power steering with tilt column. Interior is finished in Tan Leather and tweed. Dakota Digital gauges. Billet steering wheel. Dash was nicely smoothed out. Pioneer CD player with component speakers hidden behind custom door panels. Console with storage, cup holders, and a late model adjustable seat make this truck very comfortable to drive. Rolls on Billet Specialties 17" polished aluminum rims and near new Nitto ZR tires. All of the chrome on this car was refinished. All of the weatherstripping was replaced as well as window seals. New windshield and 1 piece side glass. Rear window is original with just a few minor scratches. Both door glasses have a little rub mark in the tint from some sort of friction. This truck is an absolute pleasure to drive. It is so comfortable and reliable it would make a great daily driver, and to top it off, it is always one of the nicest built trucks you will see at car events.
