1944 U model 74" Sidevalve Harley Davidson. Very rare bike of less than 300 produced that year due to the war. Even rarer this is a civilian model. Matching belly numbers and original stamp #44U1208. Correct transmission. Correct frame in great shape but has had some welding underneath to strengthen due to bottoming out. (common fix) Front end in great shape. Very rare Flanders bars. No seat because it had a bates seat I removed to put on a chopper. Runs great and shifts into gears fine. Tanks are off a later year but very nice. Rear fender needs some love but can be repaired. It will need some work to be road worthy but certainly a very rare collector grade bike worth restoring to the highest level. I have too many projects and am letting this one go.
